The Sale Blast!

Project Brief
I designed this scenario-based activity as an introduction for a four-week course for a railway client. The client needed to train Rate Dispute Representatives—who are in charge of handling disputes related to rates for intermodal and freight—on the correct application and adjustments of prices for shipments and how to handle billing disputes with their customers and other railroad companies.
To relate participants’ daily lives to their daily on-the-job tasks, I designed this activity based on regular clothing store sales. I created three flyers with offers and discounts from fictitious stores. Each store offered a deal but included some terms and conditions in the fine print. Participants were required to calculate the total amount to be spent based on discounts, terms, and conditions.
My Role
I was the lead instructional designer for the Rates and Disputes course that included this Sale Blast! Scenario-based introductory activity. I worked with a graphic artist to create the posters.
