Project Brief

I designed this scenario-based activity as part of a five-day ILT course for a railway client. The client needed to train intermodal supervisors—who are in charge of managing intermodal operations—on how to prioritize and safely manage operational issues as they changed throughout the shift.

I shadowed an intermodal supervisor during their workday to gather information about the most common issues supervisors faced during their shift. Using a poster-size workmat, I introduced a set of real-life on-the-job situations and challenges that participants were required to solve.

My Role

I was the lead instructional designer for the whole five-day ILT course, including this scenario-based activity. I designed this activity and worked with a graphic artist to create the graphics and to integrate the content using InDesign.
